About Me:

I have many names. That's why I'm the Namer & Renamer.
I have been called Gerbear (that was my mother, Polly), Gertrude Grape, Sister Piece, Jeri Kurl (or Miss Kurl), Jelly Randalls, and the entire country of Japan calls me Geri-san. I call everyone else Womanista. While I am currently a full member of The Church of the Porch, I will always be the Mother Superior (of the Sacred Sister Gurl Society and Hysterical Trust), otherwise know as FOURESHTY.
Of all the names I have operated under, the one I have called myself the most often, nay chanted to myself repeatedly, would be Hamsa Shanti. Hamsa being that which the Cosmos says unto itself meaning “I am that am” and Shanti meaning Peace. This is my swim chant. I have swum many miles while chanting Hamsa Shanti to mark the rhythm of my breathing. This I chant as prayer and to describe the state towards which I hope to drag my body through the water. It dawns on me that meditation might be a less strenuous pastime in which to engage while chanting, but it serves my needs well to swim and chant simultaneously.
Right now, however, I am going by the name Preston and I am presently hard at work writing my memoirs along with my old and trusted friend, Beauregard, who currently fashions himself as The Irreverend at The Church of the Porch, which leaves him no time for the hard work of recording our various wanderings. We do have a working title, however. We believe that it will be called Where's My Goddam Drink? The Adventures of Preston and Beauregard.
As a member of The Church of the Porch I am head kitchen serf (serving her majesty with pleasure) and head of the Communion Corp. I am also related to Miss Anne, who is my younger and less attractive sister.
